Networking & Knowledge Sharing

At Excel we believe that the strength of our personal and business networks is vital to our success. Our customers, supply chain partners and consultants are vital to the performance of our business and help to share technical, commercial and industry knowledge as well as underpinning our mission to provide industry leading customer service.

From March 2017 we are running a quarterly lunchtime business network encouraging representatives from local and regional companies across the construction industry to get together over a light lunch and listen to one or two short briefings offered by one of our network partners as well as growing their own networks to benefit their business.

If you would like to be included on the invitation list or would like to present at one of the upcoming events please contact us.

Our next lunchtime networking event will be held on FRIDAY 12TH JANUARY 2018

Young people face many challenges when moving into the workplace. Employers regularly complain about the quality of school leaving applicants for vacancies. The construction industry experiences a significant shortage of young people entering a range of careers in our sector. Young people are the life blood of our industry. Peter is the Enterprise Advisor Network Coordinator for SEMLEP (South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership) and will be telling us about their work supporting early engagement between schools and businesses.

Off-site building systems are now commonly used in UK construction across all sectors. Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is a method of construction enjoying significant growth across Europe, the United States and now here in the UK. Harvey will be summarising the features and benefits of this amazing building system with so much to offer. Channel 4's Grand Designs recently featured the use of CLT on a self build project which has raised awareness and interest amongst those seeking to follow the self build and custom build routes to their ideal home.
